Dan Jones, Designer

Dan currently serves as Costume Shop Manager for The School of Performing Arts at the University of Central Florida where audiences have seen his designs onstage a in The Lion In Winter, Oklahoma!, The Drowsy Chaperone, West Side Story, The Pirates of Penzance, The Piano Lesson, UCFs Annual Dance Concert, and Fancy Nancy, Pippi Longstocking, A Wrinkle in Time & Chasing George Washington at The Orlando Repertory Theatre. Other design credits include Iolanthe, The New Moon and The Queen's Lace Handkerchief at the Ohio Light Opera, Deathtrap at Nebraska Repertory Theatre, Macbeth for the Nebraska Theatre Caravan, Cosi Fan Tutti for the UNL Opera Program and The Imaginary Invalid for the University of Nebraska at Kearney. Mr. Jones has received numerous commendations for achievement in design from the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival. In addition to designing, Mr. Jones has been Costume Shop Manager for the Ohio Light Opera and UNK and works frequently as a freelance designer working with competitors in Pageants including Mrs. Florida International, Miss Florida USA, Miss Gay America and World's Perfect Jr. Teen, Teen & Miss. He also has extensive experience as a performer and director including a production of Caryl Churchill's Cloud 9 for which he earned a special commendation for directing from KCACTF. He holds an MFA in Costume Design from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and a BA in theatre arts from Doane College.
